About Sucre NYC

Selima Salaun and Candace Mohr met over 15 years ago and bonded over a shared love of accessories. In 2007 they started Sucre, a highly edited mix of clothing, jewelry, accessories and glasses located in the heart of New York City's West Village. It was a perfect match, bringing Selima's colorful, innovative eyewear to Candace's eclectic designer mix.

Through the years the store has built an impressive group of designers, some more established and many that are up and coming, just waiting to be discovered.
This website is a continuation of that shopping experience-you will find the classics that our customers love alongside the best of the new, all the pieces that you need to transform an outfit from ordinary to extraordinary. We have started with jewelry as that is how we began in 2007.

About Candace Mohr

Known for having a keen eye for spotting and developing talent, Candace Mohr has been in the fashion industry for over 20 years. Born and bred in NYC, she began her buying career at Patricia Field's iconic 8th Street store, turning her small department into a downtown girl's paradise filled with pieces from the best underground designers. She went on to lend her signature style to several boutiques including Nolita's Amy Chan, which she revamped into a mecca for new talent, establishing the shop as a favorite of top stylists and celebrities.

In 2003 Candace accepted a position as head buyer of internet pioneer Girlshop, bringing her brand of established and emerging labels to the web. Based on the performance of the site, a store was opened in NYC's Meatpacking district which was an immediate success.

Candace's latest venture, a collaboration with famed eyewear designer Selima Salaun followed and Sucre was born in 2007. A mix of independent labels with an emphasis on statement making jewelry and accessories, Sucre is a destination, a place to find something original and different, much like the women who created it.
